Sometimes Lawyers (Including Judges) Are the Criminals and Sometimes They Are the Victims:

These Are Their Stories–Short Versions of Some of Them, Anyway

In December of 2014 a fellow by the name of Melvin Savage (Savage) set fire to the home of L, one Laurie Gaffney,  who had represented his ex-wife in the couple’s recent divorce. L’s husband is a cop and had functioned as a peace officer at the edges of the divorce. Savage pleaded not guilty to first degree arson right after being arrested, but the tires on H’s car were shortly thereafter slashed and had to be replaced   Savage’s fiery attack on L was preceded by a series of emails that became ever more savage, pun intended; he deserves low class humor. I have not told the story, but you’ve read enough to get the idea.  As  you might expect, insurance paid for the fire damage.
